What is Illness & Emotions? An illness most of the times occur when the immune system of the body is under pressure. The different organs and relevant systems in the body do get "ill" due to the effect of suppressed emotions in the body. It is important to understand the effect of suppressed emotions within the body as it does have a definite effect on the human body resulting in specific illnesses such as sinus, headache, lupus, arthritis, build up of toxins within the organs as well as blockages in the lymph system. |
| Target Audience: The course is recommended to a wide range of professionals, health care consultants and health care therapists, social workers, ministers of religion, counsellors, teachers, hairdressers, youth workers, etc. It is a basic subject crucial to anyone who will deal with other people in their profession. |

Course Content: The following is looked at in the workshop: 1. The body and its organs: An outlay is discussed pertaining to the organs within the body. This includes the illnesses attached to the liver, heart, stomach, gall bladder, lungs, intestines, spleen, bladder, kidneys, etc. 2. The origin of emotions: It is important the person involved needs to understand where emotion originates from. The effect of the emotions on the physical body and spine is outlined. 3. The effect of emotions on the body: The emotions do play a cardinal role as basis in the manifesting of ill health. The relation of the emotions and specific organs is further outlined. 4. The underlying suppressed feelings in the body: Each organ "represents" specific emotions. Focus will be on the development of emotions in relation with the said organ. Sinus for instance is a symptom of a toxic liver as well as suppressed emotions (anger). |

Facilitator Profile: Prof Retha is a Registered Social Worker in Private Practice with a Ph.D in Interdisciplinary studies and has been working with adults and children in both individual and group settings for the past 51 years. She is also a registered Kobus Neethling Wholebrain Practitioner that deals with the different brain preferences, skills, relationships, communication skills, etc.
Furthermore she holds a Doctorate in Mental Health - to ensure that the emotions and brain health is addressed effectively – and has a second Ph.D in Colour Intervention to broaden the support in a lifestyle wellness programme. |

Thursday 14 May 2026: Enjoying the Enneagram (Cost R350.00)Time: 18h00 – 22h00 What is the Enneagram? The enneagram is a personality assessment which indicates how one functions within specific situations or deals with trauma, by focusing on three scenarios, either: i) Feeling the impact of the trauma/situation in the body and act or react with anger (Numbers 8, 9, & 1) ii) Dealing with the trauma/situation in the mind and act or react with anxiety (Numbers 5, 6, & 7) iii) Feeling the impact of the trauma/situation in the heart and act or react with different emotions (Numbers 2, 3, & 4) The enneagram is divided into 9 different personality types which are grouped in threes and the flow of acting or reacting will also be attended to. Tuesday 19 May 2026: Journalling and Inner-Child (Cost R350.00)Time: 18h00 – 22h00 Your inner-child forms part of your inner world, holding both the wounds and the wonder that continue to shape your growth today. It forms part of your lifelong story – the tender, playful, and vulnerable aspects of you that still shape how you feel, connect, and heal and carry early experiences, emotions, and unmet needs that continue to influence your present relationships and self-understanding. If the abovementioned aspects make you think deeper than the surface you may consider attending the workshop. Course Content: The following is looked at in the workshop: 1. Reconnect with your inner-child: Explore the playful, vulnerable, and creative aspects of yourself that continue to shape your present experiences. 2. Identify patterns and needs: Use journalling to uncover early emotional imprints and unmet needs that may influence current relationships and self-care. 3. Practice compassionate dialogue: Learn journalling techniques that foster self-compassion, nurturing, and gentle re-parenting of your inner-child. 4. Integrate journalwork into practice: Develop practical strategies for counsellors and individuals to apply inner-child journalling in both personal growth and professional settings. Wednesday 20 May 2026: Manage a Vibrant Lifestyle (Cost R350.00)Time: 18h00 – 22h00 This workshop offers an opportunity to review your lifestyle and how zest for life is regained again. Although there are numerous reasons for a lack of vitality the core elements that will be attended to during this workshop are: 1. Vibrant Lifestyle: Focus in this regard will be on food, water and our body, exercising, acidity, supplementation, rest, attitude and belief systems. 2. Healing power of Water: Focus will be on: A) The scientific perspective of water. B) Health and healing perspectives. C) Spiritual Perspectives. 3. Sleeping patterns: The main focus points will be on: A) Understanding sleep – i) What is sleep, ii) What happens if we do not get enough sleep, iii) Common sleep problems, with focus on insomnia, sleep walking and sleep apnoea. B) The sleep well programme. C) More sleep solutions – eliminate hidden causes of poor sleep, unleashing creativity through sleep. 4. Dealing with negative emotions: In this instance an overview will be given regarding: i) Understanding how thoughts and emotions affect one's health, ii) Making the best of your emotions, iii) How to balance and manage emotions. Thursday 21 May 2026: Setting of Boundaries (overview) (Cost R350.00)Time: 18h00 – 22h00 Boundaries are needed to structure specific wants, needs as well as behaviour. It gives a framework whereby values are formed, achievements can be measured as well as firm rules can be determined. The modification on a consistent level where needed will also be attended to. Course Content: The Course comprises of the following focus areas namely: 1. Why boundaries?: During this workshop attention is given to encourage people when to say "Yes" and when to say "No". Boundaries furthermore determine a framework in which behaviour is defined and managed. There are two main focus areas: a) Boundaries differentiating you from others: The skin, words spoken, the truth, geographical distance, time, emotional distance, other people and consequences. b) Boundaries within: Feelings, attitude and beliefs, behaviours, choices, values, limits, talents, thoughts, desires and love. 2. Setting of boundaries within the family context: Focus will be on providing an integrated intellectual framework, building relationships as well as setting boundaries within the family context. Focus will be on adults, toddlers and young children. 3. Determining boundaries on emotional levels: In this instance attention will briefly be given to how to go about when feeling emotional and the setting of boundaries also guide emotional healing. Serie: Child/Adult Drawings (4 workshops) – R1 400.00Time: 18h00 – 22h00 This serie offers an opportunity to obtain information on the uniqueness of the child within the developing years through the drawings made by the child. Growth pertaining to the Inner-self, relationship to others as well as connection in a specific environment, will be focused on. Also a valuable tool to use with adults in an intervention process. Suppressed childhood triggers, childhood trauma as well as crystalising events formed in early childhood can be identified by dealing with the said drawings. Dates and Topics: Tuesday 26 May 2026: The value and integration of drawings in practice Tuesday 9 June 2026: Focus will be on the Person drawings Tuesday 30 June 2026: Focus will be on the Tree drawing Tuesday 7 July 2026: Focus will be on the Kinetic H-T-P drawing Discussion will also focus on the following aspects pertaining to each drawing: a) Assessment of the drawing in relation to the age of the child/adult b) Significance of the drawing c) Core elements indicated in relation to the feelings, experiences and needs of the child Bookings: Your seat is secured on receipt of your completed registration form and proof of payment not later than 21 May 2026.
